Approx 6 minute Drive to the Nelson Rugby Stadium (Trafalgar Park) New Zealand is known as a rugby nation, Charles John Monro is credited with bringing Rugby Union to our fair land. - in fact he introduced the first rugby match which took place in Nelson on 14 May 1870 between Nelson Football Club and Nelson College. Nelson is hosting 2 International Rugby matches and is the Host city for the Italian World Cup Team.
