Kitescool - Kite Surfing School - Nelson

Kitesurfing or kiteboarding is the worlds fastest growing wind and water sport - described by Sports Illustrated Magazine as the Ultimate sport!  Its easy to learn and heaps of fun.  If you want to have a go then you have come to the right place.

Since 2003 Kitescool has been teaching thousands of people how to kitesurf. They are based at Tahunanui beach in Nelson, New Zealand’s premier kitesurfing beach! and we also teach at Marahau Beach in the Abel Tasman National Park – one of the worlds most beautiful kitesurfing spots.



Kitescool offers group and private lessons – every day from September/October to April/May. They teach according to the IKO (International Kitesurfing Organisation) standards which are designed to help you learn in a safe way.  There are 3 Levels to achieve and your IKO qualified instructor will respect your rhythm and take you through all the steps to reach your goals.

Level 1: Discovery Kitesurfer program
Level 2: Intermediate Kitesurfer program
Level 3: Independent Kitesurfer program

The most popular kitesurfing courses are the 2 day Introduction and the 5 day Zero to Hero course.

Kitesurfing is the worlds fastest growing water sport using the power of kite and a small boards to surf across the water, to do big jumps and fun tricks. It won’t take long for you to get hooked on this awesome adventure sport. Everyone who tries this sport absolutely loves it!

It´s an exciting way to explore our gorgeous Tahunanui Beach and Harbour.  SUP is a sport that can be easily learned if you have a reasonable level of fitness, some balance and previous board sport experience. If this is not you don’t panic!!
