The Nelson Region is renowned for it's 350 or more working artists. There are frequent Art Exihibitions on in the many arts and craft galleries, or on your drives around the region stop in and see the artists at work and buy direct from them.  You can visit the workshops of local painters, sculptors, potters, fashion designers and glass blowers as well as many many others.

Try the Markets in Nelson City every Saturday Morning, where you will find many of the artists all in one place.

Visit the World of Wearable Art Museum  and Classic Car Museum in Tahunanui, here you can wonder around and see up close the intricate and impressive clothes.  Teh WOW Gallery celebrates the originality and creativity on the Montana World of Wearable Art Awards Show, which takes art off the wall and onto the moving body.  The gallery exhibits creations from the annual awards in a theatrical atmosphere.  Nelson is the birthplace of this fantastic show which now has international acclaim and is now held in Wellington every September.

The Classic Car Museum is a tribute to automotive design and perfomance, with themed sets and feature exhibitions.
